Kristaps Porzingis Injury Dampens Celtics' Game 4 Win
Heat Mount Late Comeback Scare
Porzingis Undergoes Meniscus Surgery
An injury to star forward Kristaps Porzingis put a damper on the Boston Celtics' Game 4 win over the Miami Heat on Monday.
Porzingis played only 14 minutes in Boston's 102-88 victory at Miami, leaving the game in the second quarter with a lateral meniscus injury.
The Dallas Mavericks later announced that Porzingis underwent surgery to address the injury.
Porzingis suffered the non-contact injury with Boston leading 47-31 in the second quarter. He pulled up in pain after a rebound, and was ruled out for the rest of the game.
The injury comes as a major blow to the Celtics, who are now facing a potential Game 5 without one of their key players.
In the wake of Porzingis' injury, Jayson Tatum called the Latvian forward "the most important player" for the Celtics' chances of reaching their goals this season.
Despite the setback, the Celtics managed to hold off a late comeback attempt by the Heat, who cut the deficit to single digits in the fourth quarter.
