Senior Official Killed In Brazen Ambush

Pakistan's PM Sharif Vows Punishment for Gunmen Who Killed Senior Administrator

Senior official killed in brazen ambush

Gunmen in Pakistan have ambushed and killed a senior government administrator, sparking outrage and condemnation from top officials.

Officials vow to bring perpetrators to justice

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has vowed to bring those responsible to justice, calling for their swift identification and apprehension.

The attack took place in Quetta, the capital of Balochistan province, where the gunmen ambushed the vehicle carrying the official.

Details of the attack

According to local media, the victim was Deputy Commissioner Abdullah Khoso, who was traveling in a convoy when his vehicle was targeted.

The gunmen reportedly opened fire on the convoy, killing Khoso and wounding several others.

No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, but Baloch separatists have been active in the region.

Official response

Prime Minister Sharif has strongly condemned the attack, calling it an "act of terrorism" and vowing to "exemplarily punish" the perpetrators.

He has also directed authorities to provide the best possible medical care to the injured and to ensure the safety of government officials.

Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah has vowed to hunt down the attackers and bring them to justice.

Security concerns

The attack has raised concerns about the security situation in Balochistan, which has been plagued by violence and separatist movements.

The province has been a target of terrorist attacks in the past, including a suicide bombing in 2018 that killed 149 people.

Security forces have been deployed to the area to maintain law and order and prevent further attacks.
