The Gaza-Israel conflict, part of the long-standing Israeli-Palestinian conflict, has reached a tragic milestone, with the death toll in Gaza surpassing 10,000 since the start of Israel's bombardment a month ago, according to the Gaza Health Ministry.

In a particularly devastating incident, an Israeli airstrike on Wednesday targeted a building sheltering hundreds of displaced people in southern Gaza, adding to the mounting casualties. The attack occurred amid intensified Israeli military strikes on the area of Khan Younis.

The conflict has been marked by heavy casualties on both sides, but Israeli airstrikes and artillery barrages have disproportionately hit Gaza, an impoverished and densely populated area of two million people.
